“Guiding Hound” award for Ruby

Congratulations to Ostor and Huncut’s daughter, Ruby (Lanokk Aurelia), who at 12 months of age has passed the Schweisshund Level 1 Test (tracking) and earned herself the title of “Guiding Hound (GDH)” at the same time. Owned by Bill and Sharon Newman, Ruby is being trained by Bill to follow tracks left by deer after, for example, a misplaced shot or road traffic incident. The judges agreed on the day of the test that she should be awarded “Guiding Hound” after she was let off the lead to run 200 metres to find a deer head, then returned to Bill to take him to her find. Quite an achievement! Multi-talented Ruby will now spend the rest of the shooting season concentrating on birds.
